There are a few things you can do to make your car trip with baby and older kids much easier. Setting off without a plan and no preparation is a recipe for disaster. Instead, put in the prep time and you'll have a much more fun experience!
First, you need to have the right tools for the job. Be sure you have comfortable car seats for your children, so that the drive isn't uncomfortable. We recommend the comfortable Ickle Bubba car seats that are great for parents and kids.

Our next tip is an important one: Be prepared. If you just hop in the car and head out to see the sights, you'll be overwhelmed when your baby starts crying, or your children are tired of sitting. There are many ways to be prepared for a car trip:
Plan your snacks in advance. If your children are older, have a cooler or tote bag stocked with healthy and delicious food. If you are traveling with a baby, have the bottles already prepped.
Games are a wonderful thing to have prepared for when boredom strikes on your trip. There are many wonderful games you can have packed so you are ready when those "are we there yet" cries strike.
Know when and where you are stopping for the night. For older kids, it will give them a destination, and for younger babies, you'll know when you can call it a day, which will reduce stress.
Having music and audio books for your trip will make it fly by. Even babies will be soothed by the sounds, even if they don't understand the words. Older children will enjoy having something to listen to!
